Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL receives Naples Woman’s Club grant

The Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Naples Woman’s Club.

The grant will provide 348 women and girls in Collier County with period products for a year.

“We are grateful for the support of the Naples Woman’s Club,” said Dusti Beaubien, president and founder of the Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL. “This generous grant will allow us to continue our work to end period poverty in Southwest Florida, ensuring a period is the end of a sentence, not a girl’s education or a woman’s ability to work.”

One in four women struggled to buy period products within the past year because of a lack of income. The inability to access period supplies can force women to use rages, socks or paper products, which can lead to infection and create anxiety.

The Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL is the only organization in the region consistently providing period products to women and girls in Collier and Lee counties. Since it was founded in 2019, the organization has distributed more than 2 million pads to women and girls in need.

Through partnerships with agencies throughout Collier and Lee counties, APS of SWFL distributes period supplies at 170 locations and serves about 5,000 financially challenged women and girls with an annual year’s supply of period products.
