APS of SWFL Receives $25,000 Grant from West Bay Community Charitable Foundation
The Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL has received a $25,000 grant from the West Bay Community Charitable Foundation to help strengthen their capacity to sustain and expand product supply, ensuring that low-income women and girls do no have to choose between purchasing period products and food.
“This grant represents more than funding — it provides dignity, confidence, and uninterrupted access for hundreds of women and girls in our community,” said Dusti Beaubien, Founder and President of APS of SWFL. “We are incredibly grateful to the West Bay Community Charitable Foundation for investing in the health and well-being of women in our community. Every dollar rom this grant will go directly toward purchasing menstrual products for those struggling to make ends meet.”
Period poverty remains a growing but often overlooked issue affecting families across the United States. National studies show that 2 in 5 individuals struggle to afford period products, while 84% of students report either personally missing class — or knowing someone who has — due to lack of access to menstrual supplies. Without reliable access, many are forced to use unsafe and unreliable alternatives, creating serious health, and emotional consequences.
