May Menstrual Health Awareness Month & Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL’s Partnership with Kotex
As Period Poverty Awareness Week begins, the Alliance for Period Supplies of Southwest Florida (APS of SWFL) is partnering with Kotex to spotlight the ongoing need for equitable access to period care and to encourage more open, informed conversations around menstrual health during Menstrual Health Awareness Month this May.
As part of this effort, Kotex recently launched its “You Asked. We Heard.” video campaign, highlighting how the company reformulated its entire pad lineup based directly on consumer feedback. The updated products feature improvements in leakage protection, softness, pH balance, and overall fit — reinforcing Kotex’s commitment to making period care more accessible, responsive, and tailored to the needs of consumers.
APS of SWFL is proud to be part of the national coalition of Alliance for Period Supplies affiliates working every day to close the access gap and fight period poverty at the local level. Over the past seven years, APS of SWFL has distributed more than 10 million period products throughout Collier, Lee, and Glades counties. Despite this milestone, the need for accessible menstrual products across Southwest Florida remains significant.
In addition to donating more than 75 million products to APS affiliates nationwide, Kotex continues to support organizations working on the front lines to ensure menstrual products reach individuals and families in need.
Together, these efforts reflect a shared commitment to ensuring period care is not only available, but thoughtfully designed and accessible to everyone who relies on it every day.
